Car Accident Your Fault? Here's What To Do Next
Accidents happen, and while it’s not a great experience for anyone involved, dealing with your vehicle repairs doesn’t have to be, even if it is your fault. Our customer advisers are trained to help you through this tough time and make the entire process as easy and smooth as possible.
We don’t cast blame or treat you differently - we understand it’s important to draw a line under what happened and get you back on the road. We’re simply here to help get your vehicle fixed and to put your mind at ease.
What should I do?
If you’ve had an accident and you’re to blame it will have to go through your insurance company. You’ll have to pay an excess and there can often be a lot of back and forth with the insurer specifying which repairer you must use and if you get a courtesy car or not.
But by nominating EvolveArc you’re in control and we take care of all the details for you. We can assess the damage directly, provide you with a quote, liaise with your insurer, and deal with the approval. By going through us you may also be able to waive a percentage of your excess. Our experts will help you decide whether pursuing an insurance claim or paying privately is the best option.

Frequently asked questions
On average most repairs take around seven days, but this can vary from as little as two days to over a week depending on the nature and severity of the damage. If it’s a simple surface level repair the work can be done rapidly. If we find hidden damage, for example, and further parts need to be ordered it can take a little longer. Regardless of the timescales involved you will be regularly updated by our customer advisers.
The work we specifically carry out won’t affect your renewal and is carried out to manufacturer and insurer standards. However, a fault-based claim will likely lead to an insurance increase. Your insurer will be able to tell you by how much and will take into account factors including the severity of the accident and your driving record. You’ll also need to declare your claim every time you renew your insurance for five years.
If you’ve just had a minor scratch or prang you might wonder if it’s worth avoiding making a claim altogether. If the cost of the repair is less than your excess or only slightly more sometimes it might seem better to go private, especially if you have a high excess to reduce the premium amount. It also means you won’t lose your no claims discount. For example, if your excess is £300 but the repair is £400 it probably isn’t worth it for the amount you’d lose on your no claims bonus.
However, it’s important to remember it’s usually a condition of your insurance that you inform your provider of any accident you’re involved in regardless of whether you make a claim or not.
We can provide quotes for the cost of a private repair and help you make the best decision for your circumstances.
The benefits of using EvolveArc
When you go through EvolveArc directly you receive all the benefits you would from your insurer, but you’re also treated as a priority. Even if you’re at fault we don’t penalise you and you’ll receive the same high-quality service we give to all our customers.
As our customer, our duty is to you, not the insurers, and it’s our job to make sure you’re happy. Sometimes going through insurance means you can wait months for a repair to even take place as they act as the middleman. By coming directly to us you can jump the line and get it done quickly. You’ll also have a courtesy car while the work is carried out to minimise disruption to your daily life.
