Climate change affects us all and as awareness of its impact grows, so do calls to do something at grassroots level about it. Nationally, governments around the world have introduced a raft of laws to minimise its effects but as part of an industry which uses fossil fuels and produces carbon emissions we have a responsibility to do our part too.
At EvolveArc we recognise the importance of integrating sustainability into every facet of our business. With customers increasingly demanding more transparency and accountability over sustainable practices we’re working tirelessly to reduce our impact, cut our carbon footprint and gain PAS accreditation.
What is PAS 2060?
PAS 2060 is an internationally recognised sign for carbon neutrality introduced in 2010 by the British Standards Institution. It provides a robust framework for companies striving to achieve and verify their sustainability goals, including carbon neutral verification. By working towards PAS accreditation, companies can systematically measure, reduce, and offset their carbon emissions, ensuring they meet rigorous environmental standards. The high standards expected help companies achieve true and genuine carbon neutrality.
Incorporating PAS 2060 as part of our environmental strategy is helping us to align with broader global climate goals as well as meet the growing expectations of our eco-conscious customers.
It is one of many automotive sustainability trends we are adopting to ensure our business is not only greener but being socially responsible too.
What EvolveArc Is Doing To Achieve PAS 2060
Historically, the automotive sector has significantly contributed to climate change thanks to its reliance on fossil fuels. But with the continued growth in the electric vehicle industry there has been a seismic shift towards greener alternatives.
We have introduced carbon reducing strategies throughout our business and are working towards carbon neutral verification. The measures include:
- Going paperless throughout the business
- Installing LED lighting
- Increasing our EV courtesy car fleet
- Sustainable and safe use and disposal of substances such as paint and solvents commonly used in the automotive repair industry
- Increasing our environmental transparency
- Improving resource efficiency and reducing energy costs
Evolve’s staff are also trained and certified in electric and hybrid vehicles, ensuring they can safely handle modern technologies whilst also being mindful of the environmental impact.
As with any significant changes to fundamental working practices, things take time to implement, but it is something which is central to our business practices and our future as a sustainable and eco-conscious accident repairer. We’re committed to carbon zero at every level of our business, from our fleet of courtesy cars to our repair equipment and body shop energy consumption.
At EvolveArc, we're dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint and by working towards PAS2060 accreditation, we aim to set a benchmark for eco-friendly automotive repair services. Get in contact with us today!
